Abode Builder Platform

Overview

Abode Builder is a real-time 3D retail customization platform created for Abode Social Store. The experience gives users an intuitive way to shape the visual atmosphere of a virtual store, combining spatial design controls with a clear and approachable interface.

The Challenge

The goal was to make 3D store customization feel simple for users without requiring technical knowledge of lighting, environments, or real-time rendering. The interface needed to provide meaningful visual control while keeping the immersive store preview as the primary focus.

The Approach

The platform was structured around a live 3D workspace and a focused configuration panel. Users can select environments, adjust window tint and light direction, change lighting and background colors, and immediately see how each choice affects the virtual retail space.

Controls were organized into clear categories to reduce cognitive load and create a more natural editing flow. Persistent preview and publishing actions help users move from exploration to sharing without leaving the workspace.

Visual Direction

The visual system balances a dark, utility-driven interface with a warm and premium retail environment. This contrast gives the 3D scene room to stand out, while color controls and interaction states remain easy to identify within the editing panel.
